Description:

On May 12, 1992, an advertisement was placed in the Oregonian newspaper in Portland, Oregon requesting all classic wood runabout owners to call in! We were getting together! This resulted in a meeting of about 20 enthusiasts at a local restaurant and shortly thereafter we held an informal show at the Riverplace Marina featuring 12 beautiful boats. A year flew by, our small group grew larger, and on May 8, 1993 we were chartered as the Columbia Willamette Chapter of the Antique and Classic Boat Society. In that same month we held our first official boat show as a chapter of ACBS, and in 1994 began our annual participation in the Portland Boat Show. Both these show events, as well as monthly meetings, cruises, clinics, garage tours, our great monthly newsletter, the Hull Truth, provide local activities for the antique and classic boat enthusiasts in our area. If you are interested in antique and classic boats, why not join us?
