The aim of the antique Metalware Society is to increase the knowledge and appreciation of objects made of non-precious metals and their allows. Many aspects of metalware are studied, including their styles, uses, methods of manufacture and history, with emphasis on the study of domestic artefacts. Interest are wide but the Society generally avoids topics for which alternative Societies already exist such as pewter, numismatics and militaria, and the objects studied are mainly European in origin. Meetings are held twoce a year in the Spring and Autumn.
